Abstract
Meralgia paresthetica is a neurologic disorder of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) characterized by a local paresthesia, burning pain, numbness of the anterolateral aspect of thigh. A 26-year-old female visited our pain clinic with stabbing pain (visual analogue scale [VAS] 8/10), numbness, paresthesia, allodynia, and hyperalgesia at anterolateral aspect of left thigh for 4 years. We prescribed analgesics and performed a series of ultrasound-guided left LFCN blocks which show minimal effect. Therefore, we decided to perform L2 and 3 selective nerve root blocks (SNRBs). SNRBs reduced pain and relieved the symptoms. After two more SNRBs, her pain score much reduced by 2.5/10.
